Jr. Designer/Production Artist -
Ding Communication
We’re on the hunt for a marketing graphic artist who is looking to expand his or her design chops while manning the production artist helm at Ding.
As a Jr. Designer, you will work with the Art Director. You will be looked upon to bring both sides of your noodle to the table – the right-brained conceptual and the detail-oriented left hemisphere – in order to breathe life into concepts, sketches and marketing opportunities. In every instance, you will be expected to introduce your viewpoint, fatten the idea and make it better.
As the production artist, you must be a heads-up pit bull for detail and precision. You must know the Mac operating system and the latest prerequisite Adobe Creative Suite programs. Finally, it’s vital that you can manage yourself. No babysitting candidates please.
MUST HAVES: In addition to a graphic design degree or a STRONG design background with previous, certifiable training, you need must be completely at home with:
- Latest Mac OS
- Latest Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, PhotoShop, DreamWeaver) Effective Online Design, (this is a BIG MUST)
- Practical Understanding of Programming (you will not be expected to program, though)
- Pre-press Production Skills, Including Implementing and Managing Printer-specific PDF Settings
- Press-Check Experience
- Have A Portfolio Demonstrating Your Skills
- Ability to Coexist with Colleagues (even when the world is collapsing and people are attacking one another with butter knives). This is a MUST-MUST HAVE.
Pay starts at $15/hr., but is commensurate with experience. Position may morph into full-time. Interviews are currently being conducted and the position will be filled immediately with right person.
